SyncScale is designed with your privacy in mind. Here's how we handle your data:

Data Collection

SyncScale does not collect, store, or transmit personal scale data to SyncScale servers. Scale readings are processed locally on your device.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth to communicate with compatible scales. Weight and impedance data are processed locally to calculate body composition metrics when available.

Garmin Account

If you choose to enable Garmin sync (optional in-app purchase), the app connects directly to your Garmin account to upload scale measurements. Your login credentials are stored securely in your device's Keychain and are never shared with third parties.

No Analytics or Tracking

SyncScale does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking frameworks.

Data Storage

User profile (height, age, sex): Stored locally on device
Authentication tokens: Stored in iOS Keychain (encrypted)
Body composition data: Displayed in app, optionally sent to Garmin
No cloud storage or external databases

Compatible Devices:

Compatible Xiaomi Bluetooth weight and body-composition scales
Other Bluetooth scales may work if they share weight or body-composition data in a compatible way
Support for more popular scale brands is planned

Common Issues:

Scale not detected: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled and open SyncScale before stepping on the scale.
No body composition data: Stand on the scale barefoot and stay still until the measurement completes. Weight-only scales can still sync weight and BMI.
Garmin login problems: Make sure you're using your Garmin Connect credentials. 2FA is supported.
Data not in Garmin: Check that you've purchased the Garmin Sync feature and are logged in.
